Getting Connected

How do I connect SimSense to Claude?

SimSense connects to Claude through the MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector. You can install it from the Anthropic connector marketplace in either Claude.ai or Claude Desktop.

Once installed, SimSense will appear as an available integration in your Claude session. You'll be prompted to sign in with your SimSense account to authorize the connection.

Do I need a SimSense account before connecting?

When you first connect to the MCP it will prompt you to sign in with Google where an account will be created automatically.

Alternatively, you can create a free account at my.SimSense.ai first. You'll use these credentials to authorize the MCP connector when prompted during setup.

Can I use SimSense with multiple Claude sessions?

Yes. Your SimSense account works across multiple Claude sessions and devices. Each session will have access to the same Sims and screens tied to your account.

Sims & Content

What is a "Sim"?

A Sim is a piece of content - a visualization, dashboard, image, or interactive display - that Claude creates and pushes to one of your connected screens. Think of it as a living canvas that Claude can update in real time.

How do I create a Sim?

Just ask Claude. For example: "Create a weather dashboard Sim for my kitchen screen" or "Push a family photo slideshow to the living room display." Claude handles the creation through the SimSense connector automatically.

You can also browse and modify community Sims from the SimSense Showcase.

Can I control who sees my Sims?

Yes. Each Sim has visibility settings - private (only you), shared (anyone with the link), or public (visible in the showcase). You can change visibility at any time through your SimSense dashboard or by asking Claude.

How do I update or delete a Sim?

Ask Claude to update the content (e.g., "Change the background color of my kitchen Sim") or delete it (e.g., "Delete the weather Sim"). You can also manage Sims directly from my.SimSense.ai.

Devices & Screens

What devices work with SimSense?

Any device with a web browser and an Internet connection can display SimSense content. Common setups include:

  • Tablets (iPad, Android tablets, Fire tablets)
  • Smart TVs with a built-in browser
  • Amazon Fire TV Stick (via Silk browser)
  • Old phones or laptops repurposed as displays
  • Raspberry Pi with a connected monitor
How do I add a new device?

Ask Claude to create a device (e.g., "Add a new screen called Kitchen Display") or add it from your SimSense dashboard. You'll receive a unique display URL - open that URL in the browser on your target device, and it's connected.

How do I assign a Sim to a device?

Ask Claude (e.g., "Push the weather dashboard to my kitchen screen") or assign it from your dashboard. The device will automatically start displaying the Sim content.

Can one device show multiple Sims?

A device displays one Sim at a time. You can switch which Sim is assigned at any time - just ask Claude or update it in your dashboard.

Troubleshooting

The SimSense connector doesn't appear in Claude

Try these steps in order:

  • Refresh your Claude session or restart Claude Desktop.
  • Check that the SimSense connector is installed in your integrations settings.
  • If using Claude Desktop, ensure you're running the latest version.
  • Try disconnecting, removing and re-adding the connector.

Tip: After installing a new connector, you may need to start a new conversation for it to become available.

I'm getting an authentication error

Authentication errors usually mean the connection between Claude and your SimSense account needs to be refreshed.

  • Go to your Claude integrations settings and disconnect, then re-authorize SimSense.
  • Make sure you're signing in with the same email you used to create your SimSense account.
  • If using Claude Desktop, restart the application after disconnecting.
My screen isn't showing the content I pushed

Check the following:

  • Is the device online? Make sure the screen's browser is open and connected to the Internet.
  • Is it showing the right URL? The device should be pointed at its unique SimSense device URL.
  • Is a Sim assigned? Ask Claude to list your devices and check which Sim is assigned to the screen in question.
